In contrast to analogue VHF transmission, DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) is a new method for the digital transmission of radio signals via a network of terrestrial radio transmitters.

With DAB digital stations, you no longer have to memorize a frequency.
What distinguishes DAB + from DAB- DAB + is a further development of the DAB standard, so it takes over all functions of DAB, but offers additional advantages.
The technical difference lies in the audio coding used, ie the two standards use different methods for processing the data before and after transmission.
While DAB works with MPEG-1 Layer-2, DAB + MPEG-4 uses HE-AAC v2, currently the most efficient audio compression in the world.

Note:
The vehicle's DAB antenna can also be used for DAB +.
The DAB level ... if not active, it must first be activated with Diagonse. Preferably at Mercedes.
With NTG2.5 it has to be activated in any case with Mercedes, code 537 goes with it, if you don't know it with Mercedes.
